The State of Michigan has announced that all state offices will be closed Wednesday under the State of Emergency issued by Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
The announcement was made in the following press release:
Due to the ongoing emergency weather conditions impacting the state of Michigan, all state government offices will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2019. All state employees with shifts that begin on or after 10:00 p.m., on Jan. 29, 2019, and are deemed nonessential should not report to work on Wednesday, Jan. 30. Certain offices will remain open for critical functions only. State employees with questions about whether their work functions are deemed essential should contact their supervisor. “All Michiganders are encouraged to stay inside as the temperature continues to drop,” said Governor Gretchen Whitmer. “If you must leave, make sure you layer up, wear the warmest clothes you have, cover your mouth, and try to limit your time out of your home. For your safety and the safety of our first responders, do not take unnecessary risks.” The State Emergency Operations Center will remain open to monitor weather conditions. Employees and residents should check www.michigan.gov for updates.
