Halloween is approaching and there are fun recipes for you and your kids.

Vince & Joe's Chef Angelo Loria joined 7 Action News to show off some different recipes. Check them out below.

Baked Halloween Mac and Cheese

Ingredients

1 cups dry elbow macaroni, cavatappi, or any other fun pasta shapes

3 tablespoons butter

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

2 cups milk

1 teaspoon each salt and pepper

2 cups of shredded cheese, cheddar, swiss, velveta or any other good melting cheese

Fun toping like

o Steamed Broccoli

o Pulled Pork

o Diced Ham

o Black Olives

o Sauteed Mushrooms

o Green Olives

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2. Bring a pot of water to a boil; add a generous sprinkling of salt to the pasta. Cook pasta according to directions on box, about 7-10 minutes. Cool immediately in an ice bath. Once cool, drain water and place in a sealable container, mix with oil to prevent pasta from sticking together, seal and refrigerate until needed.

3. To make sauce, melt the butter in a skillet or medium pot.

4. Add the flour and stir over medium heat until the mixture is lightly browned; 1-2 minutes.

5. Add the milk and whisk to remove any lumps and add the salt and pepper.

6. Cook over medium-high heat until the sauce thickens and starts to bubble. About 6 minutes.

7. Turn off heat and stir in the cheese, whisking until smooth and melted. Cool sauce completely.

8. On the day of use, stir the pasta into the sauce. Portion in small ramekins for individual servings and have kids (and adults) decorate tops with favorite toppings. Bake until hot, about 10 minutes.

NOTE:

For fun effect, you can add natural coloring like carrot juice, pesto or food coloring.

A pepper cut into a jack o lantern is a fun way to bake the mac and cheese.

Easy Halloween Pizza

Partially baked cheese pizza

Triangle Shaped Pepperoni

Green Olives Stuffed with Pimento cut in half

Sliced Black Olives

Cooked Bacon Slices

Long Slices of Cheese

Banana Pepper rings

Assemble pizzas by having pizza dough partially cooked, with sauce and cheese added after dough is out of the oven. Have the kids decorate pizzas to look spooky, silly or just good!!

If you are short on time, submarine sandwich buns, naan bread, flour tortillas or precooked pizza dough would work well too. Just add pizza sauce, cheese and toppings!!

Lifestyle expert Kristen Baffo shares recipes you can make for a small Halloween party, get together or to try with just with your family! They're posted below.

MUMMY DOGS:

1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

2. Open your crescent roll package and unroll the dough. Press on the perforations to seal them together.

3. Cut the dough into 1/4 inch strips.

4. Wrap the pieces of dough around each hot dog creating bandages by stretching the dough slightly and letting it overlap and criss-cross. You dont completely cover the hot dog, leave gaps so it looks like a mummy peeking out from its bandages.

5. Place each wrapped hot dog on a baking sheet and then bake for 10-12 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and hot dogs are warmed through.

6. Remove from the oven and place a small dot of ketchup or mustard on the back of your candy eyes and add 2 to each mummy dog.

DIRT CUPS:

1. Mix up your instant chocolate pudding according to packaging.

2. Remove one third of your pudding and mix with with 1 cup of cool whip topping.

3. In a ziplock bag crush your Oreo cookies

4. Build your cups with a layer of pudding, layer of Oreo crumbs, layer of pudding/whip topping, layer of Welchs Fruit Snacks, and continue till your cup is full!

5. Top with some more Welchs Fruit Snacks, cookie crumbs and sour worms! Enjoy!

As Halloween is quickly approaching, a study was conducted to find the most popular Halloween candy.

Digital Third Coast informed media outlets about the study conducted by Bid-On-Equipment that broke down the state-by-state candy results.

Numbers were pulled from Google searches with a total of 2,004 people participating in residential neighborhoods across the country.

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups came back as the most popular candy, coming out on top in 12 states, according to the study. But Reeses isnt the most popular in big cities, the study says that honor goes to M&Ms.

Overall, Airheads, Nerds, SweeTarts, and Gummy Worms came back as the least popular candies.

The study also says consumers are expected to spend an average of about $35 on Halloween candy, and the most popular time for trick-or-treating is 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Halloween, Oct. 31, falls on a Thursday this year.

When you think about the most expensive holiday to celebrate, the one that comes to mind is probably Christmas. But the costs for Halloween can add up quickly, too.

From decorations to costumes and, of course, candy, you might spend a lot more than you realize. While you can find decorations on the cheap at stores like The Dollar Tree and you can make your own costumes, candy is a different story.

No one wants to be the house that gives out off-brand sweets, so stocking up on the good stuff is a must and it doesnt mean you have to break the bank. There are plenty of ways to save money on the candy youll be handing out to all the little ghosts and goblins in your neighborhood.

First, try to wait as long as you can to buy candy. Obviously, the best time to buy Halloween candy is after Halloween when the prices drop significantly, but that wont work when it comes to trick-or-treating.

So just hold out for as long as possible. I have used this trick the past few years and can attest that the closer it gets to Halloween, the more sales youll find. Stores will begin discounting it as trick-or-treating nears, so keep an eye on sales flyers and in-store signs.

Next, you could just skip candy altogether and give out little toys instead. You might not be the most popular house on the block, but you will save money.

On Amazon, you can get 156 little Halloween toys like rubber ducks, pencils and stickers for $16.95, or around 10 cents each.

Lastly, buy in bulk! The more candy you buy, the cheaper it is. This is true whether youre going to Amazon, Sams Club or even your local grocery store.

Not only will you save money, but buying in bulk means youll probably have some leftovers for yourself!

Below is a list of the cheapest candy I was able to find as of the publication of this story.  All candy included on the list comes in at 15 cents apiece or less, a personal rule Ive set for myself when buying candy.

This may surprise you, but shopping for candy on Amazon actually isnt the cheapest route to take when buying Halloween candy. This assorted candy party mix box on Amazon is $35.99 for 250 pieces of candy, so each piece comes out to 14 cents.

Its not the cheapest option, but youll still get a ton of candy with lots of variety (Skittles, Lifesavers, Sour Patch kids, etc.), so its not a bad deal if you get a lot of trick-or-treaters.

Youll get 28 Dum Dum lollipops for just $3.29 at Target, making them around 11 cents each and perfect if you dont get many trick-or-treaters and dont want mountains of leftover candy.

Coming in right at the 15-cent mark is this 150-count bag of M&Ms from Amazon. The total is $23.99 and includes milk chocolate, peanut butter and peanut M&Ms.

Its included on the list because it does meet my 15-cent requirement, and what kid doesnt love getting M&Ms?

This is a great deal if you like good old-fashioned candy bars. You can get 120 Hersheys miniatures on Amazon for $9.98 just 8 cents each!

This isnt candy, but still counts as something to hand out to kids on the spookiest holiday. Youll get 140 bags of mini pretzels from Sams Club for $14.98, or around 10 cents a bag.

The best deal on chocolate candy I was able to find happens to be from Walmart. You can get a 400-count bag of Hersheys assorted candy for $23.98, or around 5 cents each. Included in the bag are favorites like Reeses, Kit Kats, Twizzlers and more.

The second-best deal I was able to find overall is from Target. Youll get 200 pieces in this bag that has LaffyTaffy, Nerds and more. At $9.99, it breaks down to just 4 cents apiece.

Sams Club comes in as the winner of the best deal I was able to find, though prices could change at any moment on any of the candies listed. This Brachs Kiddie Mix comes with 600 pieces for $19.98, or just 3 cents each!

Keep in mind you will need a Sams Club membership to purchase it, so if you dont have one, pick up the Mixups bag mentioned above.

Remember, if you wait until Halloween gets closer, you may be able to find the candy you want at even lower prices than it is now.

Its finally here! Its officially Halloween month, and if youre looking for a way to celebrate, Applebees has something youll want to sink your teeth into this October.

In honor of the spookiest time of the year, this months new $1 Neighborhood Drink of the Month is called Vampire. Now through Halloween on Oct. 31, you can get the drink served in a 10-ounce mug for just $1 and I have to say, it sounds bloody delicious!

The Vampire cocktail is purple and made with a mix of rum, strawberry, dragon fruit, passion fruit, a dash of pineapple and a cherry on top. Plus, it comes with complimentary vampire fangs just in case youre searching for a last-minute costume!

The new undead libation is available only at participating locations, so be sure to check your local Applebees just in case theyre not serving it up. And just because its only $1 doesnt mean you should overdo it, so be sure to drink responsibly.

While you can order the drink all day, if you wait until happy hour (which varies, depending upon your location), you can also get half-priced appetizers and other discounted drinks in case you want to try something different after taking a bite of the Vampire cocktail.

Youll also notice some new food items on Applebees menu, including their new pasta and grill combos, which start at $9.99 for a limited time. You can select a choice of one grilled entre, like a grilled chicken breast, and one pasta, like their new smoky mozzarella ravioli. Other choices include steak, blackened Cajun salmon, crispy shrimp and grilled shrimp skewers, fettuccine alfredo with broccoli and stuffed rigatoni with tomato meat sauce.

Each pasta and grill combo comes with a side of steamed broccoli and garlic mashed potatoes, topped off with crispy onions and a breadstick.

After years of being at the top for Michiganders, candy corn has been dethroned as Michigan's favorite Halloween candy.

According to the annual report from CandyStore.com, Starburst is now the favorite candy in Michigan, with 114,879 pounds sold in Michigan.

Candy corn still remains popular, though. It was the second-favorite Halloween candy with 106,295 pounds sold. Skittles came in third with 86,221 pounds.

Baileys has a bunch of pumpkin spice recipes on its website to help us figure out even more seriously tasty drinks. And youll want to get the blender out the Baileys pumpkin spice milkshake sounds amazing. It has the pumpkin spice liqueur along with chocolate ice cream, whole milk, brown sugar, pumpkin puree and pumpkin spice blend. (This is one you might want to skip putting in your food tracker app to see the calorie count!)

Its not the first time Baileys has made the pumpkin spice drink available it has been on store shelves in autumn for the past few years. You can pick up Baileys pumpkin spice at most local liquor stores until November, so stock up if you want to have the flavor on your bar cart through the winter.

Kahla is another brand offering pumpkin spice liqueur to give your coffee a fall kick. Like Baileys, the product is seasonal.

I sampled the candy from all six countries and not only had a blast doing so, but it was a serious treat for my taste buds. Im a pretty picky eater, but surprisingly, I loved all six candies although I admit some of them gave me pause.

Thailands candy seemed like a simple pineapple-flavored hard candy until I saw it is filled with salt. I pressed on, though, and it was actually pretty good! It didnt taste like salt, but just had a bit of a salty feeling. According to the book you get with the candy box, if you order fresh pineapple in Thailand, youll receive a packet of salt to sprinkle on top, so this candy makes perfect sense.

Ukraines creamy toffee candy also sounded like something I mightve had before until I saw it was filled with milk. But again, it was surprisingly delicious and creamy (and not filled with actual liquid milk, which is what worried me).

The other candies in the box are grape chews from Columbia that tasted like a sour taffy, chocolate with strawberries and pop rocks from Italy, orange-chocolate toffees from Spain (which tasted like an orange Tootsie Roll) and milk-chocolate wafers from Greece, which are basically Greek Kit-Kats.

Im torn between Italy and Greece for my favorite. Italys chocolate was so creamy and melted in my mouth, leaving the pop rocks behind for a fun surprise, while Greeces wafer candy tasted like a cookie, and I think I may even like it more than a Kit-Kat (although those are still high on my favorite candy list).

Theres also new candy to try here at home this Halloween. M&Ms has a new Creepy Cocoa Crisp flavor and Original Gummi FunMix has new Halloween packs that have bears, worms, sharks and other fun shapes.

If youre more into nostalgic candy, Bazooka has a new Halloween-themed 22-count pack of Ring Pops. Each pop is individually wrapped in fun flavors like strawberry, blue raspberry and new Purpleberry Punch.

And the new Zombie Skittles look just like normal Skittles but include a rotten zombie flavor. Yum? Each pack has a mixture of berry-flavored Skittles and rotten zombies, so you wont know what youre getting until you eat it!

If youre holding on to the last bit of summer and wishing the season would slow down, I hate to break it to you, but according to Starbucks, fall begins pretty much right now.

Starbucks is saying adios to summer in an even bigger way this year, not only giving us the return of the beloved Pumpkin Spice Latte on Aug. 27 but a bunch of other fall treats, too including their first new pumpkin coffee beverage in a whopping 16 years!

Thats right, just when you thought it couldnt get any better than the PSL, Starbucks new Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew is here to make you second-guess everything you know. But really, considering PSL season starts when its still pretty hot outside, along with the fact that cold brew products made up a whopping half of Starbucks sales last year  well, this was definitely a no-brainer.

The brand new fall beverage is made with Starbucks Cold Brew and vanilla, then finished with a pumpkin cream cold foam and a dusting of pumpkin spice topping. The cold foam, by the way, is made with real pumpkin!

CNN Business reports you can get the drink starting at $4.45 for a grande, though prices vary by location.

Along with a brand new drink and the return of the PSL, Starbucks is also bringing back a whole lineup of fall favorites.

First up, for those that arent pumpkin fans, Salted Caramel Mocha will also be back for a limited-time beginning today.

This coffee drink combines mocha sauce and toffee nut syrup with espresso and milk. It is then topped with whipped cream, caramel drizzle and a sea salt sugar topping. You can get it hot, iced or as a Frappuccino blended beverage.

The coffee chain may be most known for their delicious drinks, but if youve never tried their food, youre missing out.

On the list of items returning this fall are the fan-favorite Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin and other bakery items including a Pumpkin Scone, Pumpkin Spice Madeleines and a Cat Cake Pop.

The Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin is topped with sweet cream cheese and chopped, caramelized pepitas (pumpkin seeds) for a balance of salty and sweet. The Pumpkin Scone features vanilla icing and a pumpkin spice drizzle.
