Despite what your social media feeds are telling you, an asteroid shaped like a skull is not going to zip by Earth this Halloween.

Asteroid 2015 TB145 looked like a skull when it passed by our planet three years ago on Halloween. But now the object may be a bit less "humerous," because its shape may since have changed.

In 2015, the asteroid missed Earth by just 300,000 miles and was visible to those with good telescopes. This year, the closest it will come is 25 million miles -- which is way too far to tell what it looks like.

"This time it's not coming close enough (to Earth) to be any larger than a dot of light," said Paul Chodas, manager of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory Center for Near Earth Object Studies.

The asteroid was previously estimated to be 2,000 feet in diameter. However, asteroids change shape over time, as they smash into other celestial objects and break apart.

What's more, the giant rock won't be at its closest until Nov. 11, well after Halloween.

NASA says the asteroid is most likely a "dead" comet that once spewed debris across the solar system. In space talk, that means it has "shed its volatiles" that would produce the visible tail seen on some comets.

The asteroid was discovered October 10, 2015, by the University of Hawaii's Pan-STARRS-1 (Panoramic Survey Telescope and Rapid Response System) telescope in Haleakala, on the island of Maui.

Now that we've shifted into fall, Halloween decorations line store shelves and pumpkin spice lattes are flowing at coffee shops. It's time to get into the spirit of the season by taking in some spooky movies on your downtime.

Netflix is scaring up a host of creepy movies in the coming weeks. Here are the top five newcomers to put on your list:

The Shining (Oct. 1)

Stanley Kubrick's 1980 adaptation of Stephen King's novel boasts some of the finest storytelling and suspense in any genre, and set the template for many horror films tried to follow. Jack Nicholson plays an increasingly unhinged hotel caretaker who is ensnared, along with his family, by dark spirits that haunt the hallways.

The Haunting of Molly Hartley (Oct. 4)

Adolescence is tough enough without having to deal with the revelation that you may just be demon spawn. In this 2008 cult favorite, Haley Bennett plays a girl who endures an attack by her insane mother and tries to make a fresh start at a new school. Echoes of "Carrie" emerge as her nefarious background starts to take over.

Truth or Dare (Oct. 3)

Lucy Hale of "Pretty Little Liars" fame stars as a college student who goes with a group to Mexico and ends up partying with a stranger who hooks them into a deadly game of truth or dare with a "Final Destination"-style quality of ending in bloody death for those who take the "dare" option. The twists keep you guessing, with no character ever seeming safe.

MaleVolent (Oct. 5)

The Netflix original spins the tale of a brother-sister duo (Florence Pugh, Ben Lloyd-Hughes) who gain money and fame by staging fake paranormal encounters. You can see where this is going, right? When actual spirits from beyond get into the act, things don't go quite as planned for the young entrepreneurs.

Apostle (Oct. 12)

Another Netflix original, the film stars Dan Stevens as a man who hunts for his missing sister, who has gone missing after joining a mysterious cult. Set in 1905, the movie boasts the directorial talents of Gareth Evans, who has turned heads with "The Raid" franchise.

A new Halloween costume is making headlines. 

The Women's Ghosted Costume is available at Party City. It features a white hooded dress with a jagged hemline. The front features message bubbles of unanswered texts including "See u tonight?" and "R U OK!?"

The term "ghosting" refers to suddenly stopping communication with an individual via text instead of explaining to them why you do not want to talk to or see them again. 

For some reason, there doesn't seem to be a costume for men even though they are also known for ghosting.

And, the messages on the costume are blue which usually indicated outgoing message. So, it's not clear if the person in the costume is the one being ghosted or the one doing the ghosting. 

Look up tonight and you may be delighted to see a full harvest moon.

According to NASA, the moon will become officially full at 10:52 p.m. on Monday, and will appear full through Wednesday.

The moon will rise Monday night around 7:50 p.m., but it won't hit full peak until three hours later.

A full moon closest to the Autumnal Equinox is known as the Harvest Moon.

The Autumnal Equinox was Saturday. It means the northern and southern hemispheres experienced an equal amount of daylight.

For the third year in a row, the most popular Halloween candy in Michigan is candy corn, according to Candystore.com.

Michiganders eat over 150,000 pounds of candy corn around Halloween. Starburst and Skittles come in a respectable second or third.

"The favorite Christmas candy in Michigan is also reindeer corn, which is the same thing in Xmas colors," the website said. "It's obviously a thing up there, like sports disappointment and flammable water."

The data comes from 11 years of sales data from 2007 to 2017 looking at the months leading up to Halloween.

Despite inclement weather, dozens of individuals came out to the Hackett Auto Museum on Saturday night to attend the venues first ever Hauntings at the Hackett event.

Hosted by Motor City Ghost Hunters, the event allowed members of the public to be part of a professional investigation and ghost hunt at the historic Hackett Auto Museum in Jackson. Attendees witnessed significant paranormal activity in the former automobile factory and were able to successfully contact multiple spirits.

This was a truly interesting and insightful experience for everyone who came, said Ted ODell, executive director of the Hackett Auto Museum. Several individuals also said they were able to connect with loved ones who had already passed.

Mediums working with the Motor City Ghost Hunters were present at the event and were able to communicate with three distinct spirits, including a woman named Evelyn who managed female employees in the upholstery shop (circa 1915), a man named Johnnie who was a mechanic and worked on cars in the building (circa 1919) and another unnamed spirit who indicated he was a night watchman there during the early 1900s. 

One medium also had a clear vision of a man in an antique-looking suit roaming the venue. Some in attendance believed this to be Horace Mansell Hackett whom the building is named after.

There is definitely positive activity here, said one investigator who wished to remain anonymous. Many of the resident spirits are delighted to see people coming to the site once again.

Having received overwhelmingly positive feedback from participants, ODell said the museum would likely host more Hauntings at the Hackett events in the future.

We had people who traveled from all around Michigan and even came from out of state to attend this event, ODell said. Once we finish renovations to the museum, we would love to invite the Motor City Ghost Hunters back to host similar experiences. I look forward to offering future events for the public to enjoy.

Construction on the Hackett Auto Museum is expected to be completed in spring 2019.

Everyone is entitled to one good scare on Halloween.

Anyone looking for just that can look no further than Jacksons Underworld, now in its ninth year.

From creepy clowns, awkward and possessed stares, even desperate cries for help, theyre all just a few things you'll find in the Underworld.

We started in tractor supply parking lot and it just keeps growing and growing, said Lance Cuffle, owner of Jacksons Underworld. Were around people having fun and I mean what better way to make a living than just being around people having fun and being happy.

Jacksons Underworld is housed inside a century old building with construction that started back in 1909. The building has been used for a number of things including a chemical company, tractor and tank parts, furniture store, and then finally a haunted house.

The haunted house itself is four stories tall with 115,000 square feet, where scaring is just what they do.

If we don't scare you, we entertain you, said Cuffle. That's the best part about this, people come here to have fun.

Your phobias are preyed upon in the Underworld. From arachnophobia, claustrophobia, and even disorientation, when walking the halls something is bound to give you the goosebumps.

A grated bridge takes you outside giving you a chance for fresh air.

We just keep coming up with ideas and constantly change it because nobody wants to keep coming back for the same thing over and over, said Cuffle.

There are many different scenes throughout Jackson Underworld, but the owner has his personal favorite.

We call it the bidet, but we have a toilet that uses city water to splash you and it seems to be quite entertaining, said Cuffle. People really seem to like that, its covered with spray foam but it looks quite disgusting.

Cuffle says his wife, Susan, is behind many of the different scenes.

My wife is kind of creepy, said Cuffle. She has one room that's all roaches and all over the walls youre walking on things that crunch and stuff that drops in your hair.

Actors do not swear and nothing inside is satanic, making Jacksons Underworld an all age attraction.

The makeup youll see is as big as the production itself. It is those finishing touches after all that make the Underworld come alive.

We make it feel like it's your own little personal horror movie, said Justyn Steele, an actor at Jacksons Underworld. It's your nightmare and your worst dreams coming true.

Actors arrive around 4 p.m. to start getting into makeup and costume. For the actors, scaring the public gives them the biggest smile.

Its just the reactions and seeing them either jump or pee their pants, said Steele. You'll have the kids laughing at the parents thinking the kids are going to be scared but nope, the parents were mostly scared.

Actors have many stories to tell about their interactions with guests.

We used to have Michigan football players, six foot tall guys, drop to their knees with how scared they are, said Steele. Theyre supposed to be these big defensive lineman and everything and theyll drop as soon as they see a clown.

Over time bonds strengthen the crew; committed to scaring the whatever right out of you.

Bring an extra pair of underpants cause you're going to need em, said Steele.

Jacksons Underworld does offers a monster repellent glow stick. When actors see the glow stick, it means theyre turn the level of scariness down a notch.

It takes approximately 45 minutes to get through the entire haunt.

A separate attraction is also open to guests called PsychoVision 3D: it is not as intense as the main haunt.

On Black Friday, for the first time, a Christmas display will open up inside the Underworld complete with gingerbread houses, massive teddy bears, even singing reindeers. It is not haunted.
