Hundreds of people enjoyed a beautiful Sunday by lacing up their running shoes for the annual Autumn Classic 8K in Haslett.

Runners took part in a five mile run.

The annual event raises money for Area 8 Special Olympics. One organizer told us the Special Olympics leaves a lasting impact on all ages.

"It's huge. One of the things that I'm not sure everybody knows about Special Olympics is that it's from when they're two to when they're 60," said event organizer Alicia Armstrong. "So it's huge. It's physical fitness, it's a social life. It helps with job skills, friendships. It's amazing."

This was the 23rd annual running of the Autumn Classic.
