The Michigan Strategic Fund has approved an additional $2.3 million grant for Jackson National Life Insurance (JNL) in exchange for the company agreeing to hire 304 new workers.
This is in addition to a $3 million grant JNL got in 2013 to hire 400 workers.
Not all of those hires met the state's requirement that 51% of those jobs be low to moderate incomes.
JNL says it had to hire many experience professionals who made more than the state's limit for "low to moderate income."
We are working to find out what actual dollar amount is considered low to moderate by the Michigan Strategic Fund.
