Spartan alumna represents USA in 2016 Summer Olympics

Spartan alumna, class of 2010 Emily Regan will compete in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil as part of the U.S. women's eight rowing team.

The women's eight team currently has ten consecutive Olympic titles in Rio.

Regan is from Buffalo, New York.  She began her rowing as a walk-on freshmen at MSU. She and her freshman year roommate tried out for the team together. Since then, Regan has competed and placed in national and international competitions.

According to The Buffalo News, Regan tried out for the 2012 Olympic team and was cut.

Another Spartan rowing alumna from the class of 2006, Christie Daiss will be heading to Rio as part of the medical service team for USA.
