It is Homecoming week at Michigan State University. This year's Homecoming Grand Marshal is a Mid-Michigan native.
Tyler Oakley grew up in Okemos and graduated from M.S.U. in 2011. The 28 year-old is now an internet sensation. Oakley has 23 million followers across his social media platforms, including 8 million on YouTube.
Despite his success, Oakley says he was surprised when M.S.U. asked him to be Grand Marshal. He said, "I was blown away because I feel like I'm way too young. I was very much like, 'Are ya'll sure that you want me right now? But of course it's a huge honor."
Oakley will take part in the Homecoming parade, which begins at 6 p.m. Friday night East Lansing.
