Doggie Trick-Or-Treat in Downtown Mason
This year you can again trick or treat with your dog in downtown Mason. The Mason Area Chamber of Commerce will host its second annual “doggie trick or treat” event on Saturday afternoon, October 26.
The event will begin at 2:00 p.m. and last until shortly after 4:00 p.m. Net proceeds will benefit the Ingham County Animal Shelter in Mason, the presenting sponsor of the event.
Pre-registration fee per dog is $8.00 before 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 25 at the Mason Area Chamber office and Visitors Center, 148 E. Ash Street in downtown Mason. The MACC Visitors Center is open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. weekdays and the registration form is available for download from the www.masonchamber.org website. The first 100 dogs to register will get their special event Halloween bandana at the MACC Visitors Center beginning at 2:00 p.m. Dogs must have this bandana to receive treats. A list and map will be available to registrants.
On the day of the event, the registration fee will be $10.00 at the MACC Visitors Center beginning at 2:00 p.m. Dogs do not need a costume to trick or treat, but will be required to have their Halloween bandana, which is being sponsored by Great Lakes Hand Surgery Center. Select downtown businesses will give out dog treats between 2:00 and 3:45 p.m. Businesses and organizations welcoming dogs with treats will have a special sign posted.
Best costume contest judging begins at 4:00 p.m. sharp outside the Ingham County Courthouse, located at 341 S. Jefferson Street in downtown Mason. Other activities for dogs and owners will be available. Prize sponsors to date are Ingham County Parks and JP Signs & Graphics.
