LANSING, MI--Ghouls and goblins will invade Washington Square as Downtown Lansing Inc. hosts its sixth annual Trick-or-Treat on the Square --- a free, family-friendly Halloween event --- on Monday, October 28 from 5:00PM to 7:30PM.

Held on the 100 and 200 blocks of South Washington Square, Trick-or-Treat on the Square provides a safe, fun environment for Lansing-area families to celebrate Halloween. The evening features an exciting themed atmosphere, activities for all ages and, of course, trick-or-treating.

Live entertainment is featured throughout the evening including a strolling magician, stilt performers, a nocturnal animal behaviors display from the Potter Park Zoo, hands-on activities from Impression 5 Science Center and Fenner Nature Center, fire dancers, and more!

Additional activities include a hay maze, hay rides, tours of Lansing Fire Department and Lansing Police vehicles, as well as the CATA Trolley, face painting, and a Tim Horton's Timbit Eating Contest for children ages 5-12 years old.

Volunteers at stations set up along the sidewalks on South Washington Square will hand out candy, generously donated by local Wal-Marts, to the trick-or-treaters from 5:00M to 7:30PM. Refreshments will also be served. Reflective trick-or-treat bags will be available on a first come, first serve basis at the Welcome Booth.

In the event of rain, Trick-or-Treat on the Square will be held on Tuesday, October 29 at the same time and location.
