Michigan Teens Smoking More Marijuana?
Are more Michigan teens smoking pot? The Tri-County Drug Coalition is concerned the state's medical marijuana law is making it easier for kids to get their hands on the drug. The group held a summit Monday to hear from experts on the harmful effects, and discuss ways to prevent youth from using marijuana.
Lt. Eric Trojanowic from the Ingham County Sheriff's department said it will take a team effort. "We've got all kinds of experts in the room, from doctors to other local police officers, to chiefs in the room that have been in law enforcement for a long time, and we also have a lot of treatment providers in there, and everybody has different angle on how to tackle this problem."
There will be more meetings about how to prevent youth marijuana use. These were only preliminary discussions.
