Idol Pick: Favorite of Top 5 Night
Until American Idol's YouTube page uploads the actual performance from last night, the studio version of Joshua Ledet singing the Bee Gees' "To Love Somebody" will have to suffice.
As revealed in the pre-performance package, Joshua had never heard the song before, but after taking fifteen minutes to himself, he came back and killed it in rehearsal.
The last performance of the night is usually reserved for the week's high note, and boy did Joshua deliver with a spine-tingling performance that only he could deliver.
This is such a talented crop of contestants, and I'm hoping that my favorites - Joshua and Skylar - sail to the end.
As far as who I think should go after last night, it's clear that Phillip just doesn't have the chops that the others have. Hollie has been stepping up at the right time, so I hope it's not too late for her to continue on to the Top 4. I understand why people like Phillip, and usually I'm a fan of the quirkier contestants on the show (Blake Lewis, Adam Lambert, etc), but the Dave Matthews routine is wearing on me.
No matter what, I can't wait to buy Joshua's CD - that guy makes me feel something.
