It could easily be debated that tea, in itself, pushed colonial American into a revolution; without discussing taxation without representation or that big party in Boston, I’m going to give you a helpful runthrough on tea and the many varieties available. Whether you want to sooth a sore throat, ease tension and stress, or regulate your digestion, there are a number of teas that you can benefit from. Personally, my favorite tea company is Traditional Medicinals (which I have only easily found at Meijer); all of their teas are certified organic and they provide every type from Chamomile to Peppermint. While these different herbs have their own “flavor” within the arsenal of teas, there are also a number mixed herbs Traditional Medicinals combines for increased drinking pleasure. While Chamomile is known for its calming effects and ability to calm indigestion, this company pairs it with Lavender and Lemon Balm to further increase the tea’s ability to reduce restlessness due to digestion issues.
For those of you who drink tea more for flavor opposed to their holistic benefits, Traditional Medicinals provides a range of delicious teas that will leave you feeling great. The typical tea drinker, I’m assuming, pours hot water on a tea bag in a mug, whereas my favorite technique is to use a travel coffee mug to mix two different flavors into one.
I’ve tried almost all of the variations of tea that Traditional Medicinals has to offer but a few of my favorites are their Breathe Easy blend, the Organic Peppermint, Organic Easy Now, and Organic Chamomile. A number of these teas have had their intended benefits confirmed during clinical testing and I can confirm that they taste great, help hydrate you, and will clear up any nagging throat tickle. While the chamomile, lavender, and passionflower inside Traditional Medicinal’s Easy Now blend are known for their calming affects, the Organic Echinacea Plus blend helps strengthen your immune system makes the quality and variety of Traditional Medicinals “Tea-licious!”
