Naked in the Stream author to speak at the Quiet Water Symposium

February 24, 2012 – Vic Foerster, author of Naked in the Stream Isle Royale Stories, will give a presentation at the 17th Annual Quiet Water Symposium being held Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the Michigan State University Pavilion.

This event celebrates non-motorized outdoor recreation and a shared concern for the Great Lakes Environment. In addition to exhibits, visitors can enjoy presentations from authors, photographers, expedition travelers. There will also be talks on safety, local and distant destinations and a variety of outdoor activities. More information can be found at

“I’m honored and excited to be invited to participate in this event,” says Foerster. “My love of the outdoors and the water has been a huge part of my life. Surrounding myself with over 1,000 people that feel the same way is really something to look forward to.”

Throughout the year, Foerster presents fun and informative programs on Isle Royale, one of the least visited parks in the National Park System. A visitor to the island for over 30 years and a trained arborist, his passion for the natural world shines through in his programs.

“Over the past two years, many people have shared their own personal stories of the island with me, and these have become part of the presentation,” says Foerster.
