'It's All About Mi Mi Mi'
As part of the Omni Art Series "It's All About Mi Mi Mi," Kris Koop Ouellette will appear in a recital on stage at Plymouth Congregational Church in Lansing, Michigan on Sunday, October 27th at 7:00PM.
Kris Koop Ouellette recently left the Broadway Company of The Phantom of the Opera after 12 thrilling years in performance, where she made history by becoming the first woman in the show’s record-shattering run, to play all three of the female leads: Christine, Carlotta, and Madame Giry. Besides her work in The Phantom of the Opera, (Broadway and National Tour), Kris was hand-picked to create the new role of Carlotta in workshop performances for the Las Vegas Phantom Spectacular, working alongside Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, David Caddick and Harold Prince. Other career highlights include Cats (National Tour: Jellylorum / Griddlebone, Understudy for Grizabella), Showboat on PBS at Paper Mill Playhouse, Anne in Westport Country Playhouse’s A Little Night Music, Hodel opposite Spiro Malas in Cleveland Opera’s Fiddler on the Roof; and Mrs. Cratchitt/Ghost of Christmas Past in A Christmas Carol at Syracuse Stage opposite Jim True.
Kris has developed educational programming for Broadway Classroom, Sony Music Young Artists in Development, AFTRA Bookpals, NY Stages, and Camp Broadway. Kris is happily married to Steven Ouellette, Assistant Director of Operations at Wharton Center. Through her work at MSU and Wharton Center, Kris truly hopes to introduce the ideals of truth and versatility within the field of performance to actors of every age, so that students may cultivate a career arc that truly celebrates their individuality and gives flight to their creative spirit. Locally, Kris was delighted to play Sandy Stier in a staged reading of "8" for director Chad Badgero at Peppermint Creek Theatre.
The concert will feature selections from musicals such as, Showboat, The Phantom of the Opera, The Fantastics, Chess and Brigadoon.
She will be accompanied by John Dale Smith, Director of Music at Plymouth Congregational Church.
