Sculptures in the Park

Lansing Art Gallery will host Sculptures in the Park June 1 – August 30, 2013.  The exhibition, featuring 10 Michigan artists will be located at historic Wentworth Park.  The park is nestled on the Grand River in downtown Lansing on the corners of Grand and Michigan Avenues.  The artworks will engage the public in considering the relationship between art and the environment, the history of Wentworth Park, and Lansing as a place to live, work, and play. 

More than a visual experience, Sculptures in the Park is a fully interactive happening.  In this outdoor gallery there in no need to silence your cell phone.  You will want it handy so you can download the Sculptures in the Park app from iTunes or Google Play or by scanning the app code on the brochure.  You may hear the artist speak about their work with the Sculptures in the Park App or by dialing the number on each artwork sign.

Lansing Art Gallery received the Sense of Place in the Arts Grant with support of the City of Lansing Arts & Cultural Grant Program funded through the Lansing Economic Development Corporation and administered by Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP) with assistance from the Arts Council of Greater Lansing.
