Former Detroit Tigers first baseman Prince Fielder is set to retire at the age of 32, according to numerous reports.
Fielder suffered a second neck injury that ended his season early.
He has most recently played for the Texas Rangers as first baseman and designated hitter.
Fielder was traded to the Texas Rangers back in 2013.
There are reports that the Rangers will have a news conference to make the official announcement.
