Fire at Morrill Hall on MSU Campus
MSU's demolition of a historic building hit a major snag Wednesday night. Several fire departments responded when Morrill Hall caught fire around 7 p.m. It started on the roof and spread a couple of floors down, but firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to other buildings.
MSU Police are saying nobody was inside at the time, and that no one was hurt in the fire.
However, it was a much different scene at Morrill Hall earlier in the day. Demolishing the one hundred and thirteen-year-old building, brick by brick. The University approved the demolition plan back in 2010, saying reconstruction and restoration would not be economically feasible.
