#4 MSU Falls to #1 Indiana, 72-68
Tuesday night's matchup between the #1 Indiana Hoosiers and #4 Michigan State Spartans was worth the hype. It was the first time two Top 5-ranked teams faced off against each other at the Breslin Center, and would break the tie at the top of the Big Ten conference.
The Hoosiers came out on top, winning 72-68 in front of a sold-out crowd.
Victor Oladipo scored 19 points for Indiana, and Cody Zeller added 17 of his own. Both players passed the 1,000 career points mark during the game.
For Michigan State, Gary Harris matched Oladipo's 19 points, and Adreian Payne added 17, including going 3-3 on three point attempts.
Keith Appling, who fouled out early in the first matchup against Indiana on the road, struggled on the court and at the line, scoring 6 points.
Tuesday's game also marked the return of Travis Trice, who hasn't been playing due to concussion-like symptoms. Trice played six minutes and didn't score.
Indiana had not won at the Breslin Center since 1991.
Michigan State now faces a road schedule that includes games at Ohio State this Sunday and U of M the following week.
