UPDATE: Fatal Fire in Meridian Township
Fire has claimed the life of a person in Okemos Monday night. Fire officials have not released many details yet. A body was taken from a mobile home that had been engulfed in flames at Winslow's Mobile Park on West Grand River Avenue.
The fire broke out at about 11 o'clock Monday night. Neighbors tell us that an elderly couple lived in the home. Fire officials have not confirmed who died, but we have learned that the husband is accounted for.
We have also learned that there was a large collection of guns and ammunition in the mobile home. Fire officials continue to investigate and expect to release more information Tuesday.
