Eaton Rapids Man Killed in Snowmobile Accident
An Eaton Rapids man is dead after a snowmobile accident in Cheboygan County.
It happened around 11pm Tuesday night on Mullet Lake. The Cheboygan County Sheriff's Office says 48-year-old James Michael Larder II was on his way home from a bar when he went through the ice on Mullett Lake near the mouth of the Indian River.
Sheriff's Officials say the ice on the lake is around 18-20 inches thick, but near the mouth of the river it's only about one inch thick.
The investigation is ongoing at this time.
