Ionia Car Crash Victim Identified as Local Teacher
The Ionia car crash victim has been identified as 57-year-old Portland High School teacher Brad Foltz.
On Saturday at 12:10 AM Deputies with the Ionia County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle accident on eastbound I-96 near Kent Street.
The investigation revealed that a Ford F150 truck, driven by Foltz, was eastbound, left the roadway, struck a guardrail, and came to a rest on its roof in the eastbound travel lanes.
A Ford Escape, driven by a 55-year-old Grand Rapids man, struck the Ford F150. The driver of the Ford Escape was transported to Sparrow Hospital and is currently in stable condition.
A 56-year-old female, who was a passenger in the Ford Escape, was transported to Sparrow Hospital and is in critical condition.
Foltz was pronounced dead at the scene.
