Kalamazoo College Student Dies from Bacterial Meningitis
A 19-year-old student at Kalmazoo College is dead after being diagnosed with bacterial meningitis.
The sophomore was taken to the hospital Friday, and died Sunday from the infection. More than 100 others who may have had contact with her are getting treatment as a precaution.
This type of meningitis is different from the fungal meningitis linked to bad steroid shots. No other cases have been reported.
