Narcotics Squad Makes Major Cocaine Bust
The Tri-County Metro Narcotics Squad and the Jackson Narcotic Enforcement Team teamed up for a major cocaine bust Wednesday.
The two law enforcement agencies targeted a Lansing Township man and a Jackson County man suspected of large-scale narcotics trafficking.
Wednesday night, the agencies asked the Michigan State Police to stop three cars. Nearly four-and-a-half kilograms of pure cocaine were seized from a hidden compartment in one of the vehicles. Six men and one woman were arrested.
Investigators say the cocaine has a street value of nearly $900,000.
The names of the suspects won't be released until formal charges are made.
