12th Michigan Death from Contaminated Steroids
A 12th person has died from contaminated steroids in Michigan, an 88-year-old woman in Washtenaw County.
Three other Michigan residents have died from the steroids in Indiana.
The deaths are tied to the contaminated steroids that caused an outbreak of meningitis in many states last year.
Overall, 238 people have been infected or killed by the contaminated steroids, which cause meningitis, epidural abscesses and infections.
The majority of cases cause epidural abscesses or infections
The Michigan Department of Community Health says it is seeing 2-3 new cases reported each week.
