Study: Letting Babies Cry Helps Them Learn to Self-Soothe
It may be best to let a baby cry through the night and fall asleep again on their own.
Researchers studied more than 1,200 babies, from six-to-36-months old. Throughout the testing period, the babies gradually woke up fewer times when their parents let them cry.
The study suggests babies may not learn how to self-soothe when parents are in the picture, and that's a critical part of learning how to sleep on a regular schedule.
