Flint Teen Charged in Murder of Woman Found in Red Cedar
The teen accused in the murder of a woman whose body was found in the Red Cedar River was in a Lansing courtroom for his arraignment Wednesday.
19-year-old Derrick Martin of Flint was charged with homicide, felony firearm, firearms possession by a felon in the death of Schnee Hyon Sin of Swartz Creek. Martin is also charged with Habitual Offender - Second Offense.
The 22-year-old's body was found floating in the Red Cedar River, near Crego Park at Mount Hope and Aurelius, on Saturday, December 8.
Police say she was shot to death.
Martin will be back in court next week for a preliminary hearing. His bond has been remanded.
