Police in Jackson have stepped up patrols at Northwest High School after rumors there was going to be a shooting Thursday or Friday.

Deputy Director Jon Johnston with Blackman-Leoni Township Public Safety tells us they interviewed 20-30 students about the rumors on Wednesday.

Police were unable to get any information about what exactly would happen, who was involved or where the rumor came from.

However, as a precaution, police will have a presence at the high school through the rest of the week.
