Tigers Strike $80 Million Deal with Anibal Sanchez
According to multiple outlets, the Detroit Tigers' right-handed pitcher Anibal Sanchez has re-signed with the team with an $80 million deal.
According to USA Today's Bob Nightengale, the team and Sanchez agreed to a five year deal.
Tigers' pitcher Justin Verlander signed a $79.5 million deal for five years three years ago, meaning that Sanchez will be making more than the ace if the deal figures are accurate.
The Chicago Cubs were also interested in obtaining Sanchez for next year's season.
Sanchez was integral in the Tigers' win over the New York Yankees in Game 2 of the ALCS. He also pitched a loss in the World Series.
