If you are heading to the Capitol Tuesday, there are some road closures you should know about. Five streets that surround the Capitol building will be closed in Lansing on Tuesday, December 11 because of the massive protests planned in the area.

The five streets are:
Capitol Avenue (from Ionia Street to Allegan Street)
Michigan Avenue (from Washington Square to Capitol Avenue)
Ottawa Street (from Capital Avenue to Walnut Street)
Allegan Street (from Capital Avenue to Walnut Street)
Walnut Street (Allegan Street to Ottawa Street)

The streets will be closed starting at 6 a.m. Tuesday morning.

No parking will be permitted along the streets.

The Lansing Office of Emergency Management has not said when the streets will be reopened.
