Downtown Lansing Businesses Expecting Boost During Protests
Protesters and State Police aren't the only ones preparing for Tuesday.
The thousands of people coming into the Capital City this week and last are boosting business for local restaurants and shop owners. We talked to a few downtown Lansing restaurants who say they are bringing in extra workers and food to prepare for Monday and Tuesday's sales.
"It's a big business boost," says Sharlena Phelps of Grand Traverse Pie Company. "We're expecting to possibly have record sales for Monday and Tuesday as far as our weekly sales go."
She added: "I think you have to come in with a 'we're gonna get this' attitude or it's all going to go down hill, so we're prepared and we're ready. Ready to feed the masses."
The Radisson in Lansing says it is seeing an increase in bookings as well, but still has rooms available.
