Over 1200 customers were in the dark Sunday evening in Meridian Township. Police directed traffic at main intersections where the lights were out.

Consumers Energy tells us there was a fault in an underground line at a substation. They were reconnecting customers to other power sources while they worked on fixing the broken line.

Consumers said it hoped to have everyone's power restored by 11p.m.

You can see where the power was out on Consumer Energy's new online interactive map. The map shows what areas are without power at any given time.
