Wheeldon to Judge: "It's a Shame Justice Has Gone Down the Tubes"
"You've already got your mind made up what you're gonna do. It's a shame that justice has gone down the tubes like this."
That was Ricky Wheeldon telling a Jackson County judge how he feels about his prison sentence of 24 to 50 years for running a criminal business.
He ran from his racketeering trial last spring. State police arrested him in October after Dog the Bounty Hunter was brought in to help track him down.
Dog says he thinks Wheeldon still has no remorse for his crimes.
"Mercy is shown where mercy is given, but you gotta show some kind of remorse to get that mercy and I don't think he still to this day has any," Duane "Dog" Chapman said.
"This is a person that has no respect for the law and has flagrant disregard for law enforcement and his word is no good," said Chapman's wife Beth.
Wheeldon says witnesses were intimidated and investigators lied about his case.
He's due back in an Ingham Coutny court for charges related to his October arrest next week.
