Lansing, MI - Join the Downtown Lansing Community on Tuesday, November 27th, in the fight against hunger!

The Organization Committee of Downtown Lansing Inc. (DLI) is hosting a competitive food drive between local teams and individuals to raise food contributions for the Greater Lansing Food Bank to help those in need in our community.

The winner of the Food Fight competition will get their name engraved on the Golden Can Traveling Trophy, which they get to keep for one year.  Teams or individuals are encouraged to sign up in advance for planning purposes as the contest is weighted by the number of team members.

This is a fun competitive food drive, with both food and monetary donations being accepted, but food items are encouraged. In an effort to weight donations evenly, for the sake of this competition only, every dollar donated will equal 1 lb. of food. The total number of “pounds” collected per team will then be divided by the total number of team members to determine who has the highest percentage of “pounds” of food donated per team member.

Food and/or monetary donations can be dropped off at the Greater Lansing Food Bank truck, located in front of the State Capitol from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Tuesday, November 27. Donations will be collected rain or shine.
