Local Church Community Prepares Thanksgiving Baskets for Families in Need
The generosity of one church community is helping ensure dozens of people get a Thanksgiving meal this year.
Volunteers from Our Savior Lutheran Church in Lansing put together more than 200 baskets for local families in need Monday. Those baskets include everything needed to make a Thanksgiving dinner, such as the bird, stuffing, potatoes, rolls - even milk.
"There's a lot of people in the community that wouldn't otherwise have these meals. And we know there's a lot more people that we won't be able to reach, but we're trying to spread God's word and blessing that he's given us and that's through the meals we give to other people," says Becky Grocki, Comm. Director for Our Savior Lutheran.
Our Savior Lutheran Church has done this in the past. It decided to do it again after getting a lot of donations from its congregation.
