The Central Michigan University professor at the center of a pornography investigation has resigned.

William Merill was suspended last week after being charged with four felony counts, including child sexual abuse, possessing child sexual abuse materials and two counts of using a computer to commit a crime.

The university announced last week that pornographic material had been found on Merill's university computer after receiving a tip.

Merill was a tenured professor in the College of Education and Human Services
