President Obama Re-Elected to Second Term
The 44th President of the United States remains in office, as Barack Obama defeated Mitt Romney on election night.
The President says "we've got more work to do" as he prepares for his second term in office, with 303 electoral votes to Romney's 206. Obama also had 50% of the popular vote to Romney's 48%.
Obama won several key swing states, including Michigan, Ohio, Iowa, and Virginia. Florida was still too close to call as of Wednesday morning.
"Tonight, in this election, you, the American people, reminded us that while our road has been hard, while our journey has been long, we have picked ourselves up, we have fought our way back, and we know in our hearts that for the United States of America, the best is yet to come," Obama said to supporters in Chicago, Illinois.
