Man Arrested for Stealing From Sick, Elderly Woman
A man from Muir has been charged with stealing from an elderly woman who was battling a serious illness.
James Arthur Lowe was arrested Tuesday for Larceny from a building, 4 counts of Uttering and Publishing and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
On October 25, detectives with the Ionia County Sheriff's Department and the Lowell Police Department teamed up to investigate a fraud complaint on a 72-year-old woman from Lowell. Investigators determined Lowe accessed and compromised the woman's checking account while she was battling a serious illness.
Lowe is currently behind bars at the Ionia County Jail pending his arraignment.
