On Tuesday, U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow, Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero, Capital Region Airport Authority Board Chair Chris Holman, Capital Region Airport Authority President & CEO Robert Selig will be on hand for the announcement of the Grand Opening of the Port Lansing Global Logistics Centre.

State’s business and policy leaders hail completion of $6 million project as “Michigan’s Global Gateway”. The Centre includes the shovel-ready commerce
park and the new 48,000-square-foot cargo warehouse which will serve the entire state of Michigan and the upper Midwest as a logistics hub for international commerce. The Centre is the first phase in the CRAA’s plan to spur more than $20 million in private development at the 110-acre site during the next decade.

The new cargo facility will function as a freight consolidation center, a general-purpose foreign trade zone, and an import/export incubator, including warehouse operations for companies involved in international trade. The grand opening of the Port Lansing Global Logistics Centre
culminates more than $27 million of investments in infrastructure upgrades at Capital Region International Airport since 2005, including a runway extension, a new U.S. Customs & Border Protection Federal Inspection Station, and infrastructure improvements for the commerce park.
