Ingham County Sheriff Gene Wriggelsworth announced Monday that the reward for information leading to the arrest of the I-96 gunman has soared to $102,000.

The FBI and the ATF are each contributing $50,000 and Crimestoppers is adding $2,000.

Sheriff Wrigglesworth says that since the shootings were first reported on October 16th, 600 tips have come into the task force of Michigan police and sheriff's departments and the Michigan State Police who have joined together to investigate the incidents. More than 100 officers have been assigned to the task force.

So far a total of 25 incidents have been reported and verified as credible. All have been along the Interstate 96 corridor from the Oakland County community of Commerce Township to the Webberville area in Ingham County.

A sketch of the suspect has been released. Investigators say he may be driving a dark colored Cavalier of Mustang.

Michigan State Police say they don't believe Monday's incident on U.S. 23 near the I-96 interchange in Brighton was a shooting.

They say the woman's vehicle was likely hit by a rock or some sort of projectile.

We're told the arrest police made shortly after the incident was not related to the shooting investigation. Police were pulling over several cars that matched the description of the car the shooter is believed to be driving, a black sedan. At least one driver was arrested for driving on a suspended license.

Ingham County Sheriff Gene Wriggelsworth, who is part of the task force formed to investigate the highway shootings, is holding a press conference about this latest incident this afternoon.
