Two Mid-Michigan Hospitals Honored for Encouraging Organ Donation
Two local hospitals are being recognized for what they're doing to help save lives.
Sparrow Hospital in Lansing and Allegiance Health in Jackson received bronze medals from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for encouraging organ donation.
Both have a donation rate of 75 percent or more of eligible donors.
Nearly 400,000 people joined Michigan's Organ Donor Registry last year -- a 25 percent hike from the year before.
