Ex-Lover Won't Testify at Kilpatrick's Trial
A lawyer for a former aid and ex-lover of Kwame Kilpatrick says his client won't testify at the ex-Detroit Mayor's kickback and corruption trial. Christine Beatty isn't on the witness list for the defense, and prosecutors aren't calling her either.
42-year-old Beatty was a recurring figure in testimony last week in the federal corruption case against Kilpatrick. Kilpatrick faces tax conspiracy, fraud, extortion and bribery charges.
