Local 2013 Calendar to Support Breast Cancer
A new 2013 calendar is supporting people with cancer. In an effort to raise awareness during 'National Breast Cancer Month', a group of breast Cancer Survivors are creating a calendar. Twelve survivors will be featured in the 2013 'It's a Breast Thing' calendar. The money raised will go towards grants and help breast cancer patients with things insurance doesn't cover.
We spoke with one of the calendar's organizers who told us how important this calendar is for so many women "it's becoming a younger diagnosis it's hitting people at a younger age and you can see that throughout the calendar we post the ages in there. It hits people of all different cultures going to see a wide range of people in the calendar as well."
The women featured in the calendar were winners of a themed bra decorating contest. The event included a presentation of the latest information on breast health and prevention.
