A new bike lane has officially opened in Lansing. The Saginaw bridge and newly developed bike lanes along M-4 opened Sunday morning with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Through a partnership of MDOT and the City of Lansing, the new bike lane begins at Stanley Street and links up to the river trail just beyond the bridge.

We spoke to an organizer of the project who tells us this will greatly improve traveling around The city "We've got a lot of multi-motor connectivity. People in the neighborhood can use several options for getting to where they to go and getting goods and services."

MDOT and the city of Lansing hope this project will create a safe travel environment and help revitalize Lansing's west side.
