Health officials have now confirmed at least 20 cases of fungal meningitis in Michigan. That's up from 8 reported cases Saturday.

There are more than 91 cases nationwide, Michigan being the second hardest hit by the disease. The death count stands at seven people spread over nine states, with two deaths reported in Michigan.

The pharmacy that distributed the steroid has issued a voluntary recall of all of its products including the steroid. Health officials have been scrambling to notify anyone who may have received a contaminated injection.

The shots were shipped to four facilities in Michigan: Michigan Neurosurgical Institute in Grand Blanc, Michigan Pain Specialists in Brighton, Neuromuscular & Rehabilitation in Traverse City and Southeast Michigan Surgical Hospital in Warren.

The Michigan Department of Community Health said Saturday it won't be able to release any details about the deaths until after the weekend.

Nationwide, hundreds, and perhaps thousands, of people who got the shots between July and September could be at risk.
