Lansing drivers won't have to look at the orange barrels around Saginaw Street much longer.

MDOT is planning to reopen the Saginaw Street Bridge over the Grand River Friday evening, weather permitting.

It's been closed since March for a major reconstruction project that reduced Saginaw from five lanes to three, added a bike lane, widened sidewalks, and made improvements to Lansing's River Trail.

The River Trail is also expected to open in that area Friday.
