Physical Therapy Goes Virtual with Video Games
There's a new way to get physical therapy patient moving, virtual video games are getting people up, and proving to be a little more fun than some of the traditional methods. The new high tech virtual therapy area allows patients to play video games while rehabbing. It's actually working.
"Patients are having improvements in their strength and in their balance, they're kind of regaining their function a little bit quicker." The difficulty level can be adjusted for anyone. It is expensive, the 20-thousand dollar system includes a camera, projector, projector room that puts the patient in the middle of the room.
