Update: Accident in Ingham County Now Fatal
Investigators say an accident involving a gravel truck and a pickup truck in Leroy Township last Thursday is now fatal. State police report Monday that 65-year-old Lyman Scott Hitchcock of Williamston died as a result of the crash. The driver of the pick-up truck, a 56-year-old Perry man, remains in critical condition Monday.
The accident happened at about 11:40AM at the intersection of Holt Road and Dietz Road in Leroy Township, eastern Ingham County.
A statement from the Michigan State Police says that the driver of the pick-up truck was driving south on Dietz road and disregarded a stop sign. Hitchcock, the driver of the gravel truck, was traveling eastbound on Holt Road and struck the pick-up.
