Overdose Likely Cause of Jackson Man's Death
A man found dead in a home in Jackson Thursday is likely a drug overdose, according to police.
The 47-year-old man was discovered when state police went to the residence to investigate a check fraud case.
Jackson police say when the trooper arrived at the apartment in the 1400 block of Sweet Avenue, a woman in the home, the deceased man's girlfriend, said she could not let them in, because her boyfriend was dead.
Jackson police were called and entered the home. Police say there were no signs of trauma to the body and drug paraphernalia present, which leads them to believe the cause of death was an overdose.
The woman was taken to the hospital for an injury to her leg. Police do not expect to file criminal charges relating to the death.
