Two Michigan companies are getting top honors from the Department of Defense.
Uniform Color Company in Holland and the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety were given the 2012 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award Thursday.
The award is given to companies who hire and support Guard and Reserve employees.
Only 160 companies have been given the Freedom Award since its institution in 1996.
