Locally Grown Foods Coming to Capitol Lawn at Farmers Market
The new person in charge of meals at Sparrow Hospital is keeping the menu as local as possible.
Executive Chef Jesse Emmett plans on using Michigan-grown foods like asparagus and other veggies, in more of his made-from-scratch meals.
Sparrow has led a number of health food initiatives in the last few years, like cutting trans-fat from their food programs back in 2010.
You'll also be able to find locally-grown food at the Capitol this Thursday. The farmer's market on the Capitol lawn will run from ten to three p.m.
It's the last one of the season.
More than 50 vendors will be there, selling everything from produce and flowers to meats and baked goods.
